Spelling Alphabet

In my daily work, when I am on the phone with customers or manufacturers, sometimes I need to provide them my email address or asking for some information. To provide and get correct information between people with a different language background, we can use a spelling alphabet, where every letter is described by a word. Let say my email address is “mihu”, I will describe like these: m for mcdonalds, i for Indonesia, h for hotel and u for usa.

Only do you know that actually there is a widely used spelling alphabet, known as the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet or NATO phonetic alphabet? Shared to you as following and maybe lists of simple English words for alternatives in case some people don’t really know about NATO phonetic alphabet which is included as below table. Hope it helps.
